This salute to the past is also being emphasised by having the exterior of the building taken back to its original black-and-white Tudor-style paintwork.
Landlady at The Three Tuns, Sarah West, is another ex-teacher and Spire Brewery stalwart. With her finger on the pulse of just what’s right in quality and value - from the beer, cider, wines and spirits stocked, to the food served - you can be assured of a very warm welcome and a thoroughly enjoyable visit! With all that in mind, we’ll be working closely with local suppliers and aim to host regular events such as beer festivals, wine and whisky-tastings, a dining club and a regular quiz night.
Twelve - yes, twelve - high quality locally-brewed real ales from Spire Brewery and guest microbreweries will be on draught together with at least two real ciders, a Continental selection including “Bernard” Pilsner from the Czech Republic, and Belgian beers. Served in oversize glasses, you are guaranteed a full liquid third, half or full pint measure - the head comes free!
A varied menu of regular home-cooked favourites including steak & ale pie, sausage & mash, and The Three Tuns all-day breakfast will be available from Tuesday to Saturday, with a traditional roast selection on a Sunday. Keep an eye on our Specials board too, for daily and seasonal specials.

Last but not least, we’re family friendly (including the dog!) with children welcome until 8pm every day, and equally happy to welcome those who just want to sit on our comfy sofas and chat over a hot cuppa.
Even the designated driver will not be forgotten - he or she can enjoy tea, coffee, or soft drinks (from our chilled dispenser) completely free-of-charge!

Spire Brewery’s new flagship pub, The Three Tuns, Dronfield, is now open! We look
forward to welcoming you as our valued customers.
Formerly “The Hallowes”, we’ve renamed, redecorated and re-equipped the pub to establish
what we hope will become the premier real ale pub in the area.
Re-naming the new pub ‘The Three Tuns’ is part of Spire Brewery’s vision of celebrating
the traditional art of brewing and the continuing existence of the Great British
Pub.
And for those who aren’t familiar with a ‘tun’ it’s just an old alternative name
for a large wooden barrel and three tuns just happen to be on the coat-of arms for
the Worshipful Company of Brewers.
